Kathryn Crawford

Kathryn’s draw to this work is rooted in growing up as a white child in the violent, racially segregated ‘deep south’ of the U.S. This prompted her ongoing exploration of the larger world through opportunities for traveling, living, and working internationally as well as studying and practicing ways of social change through peace education and cooperative conflict resolution.

With an academic foundation in the field of peace education, Kathryn is currently focusing her work on institutional change by way of individual capacity development and organizational development. In particular, she’s concerned that higher educational institutions in the U.S. create and maintain campuses that are safe for all students, teachers, and staff to learn, teach, work and interact. She is now studying the education of white people within diversity, equity, and inclusion offices on college and university campuses.
