Some of the major questions following diversity workshops are: “How can I get this started in my workplace? How can I translate what I’ve learned so that it’s applicable to the needs and issues of our agency? How can I train the folks at my workplace what I’ve learned? How can I take what I’ve learned and turn it into something that is practical and useful to our leadership and managers? How do I work with folks who are resistant to anything new or different?”
Sound familiar? Well, you aren’t alone in your fears and hopes. These questions and their answers are complex and require much thought, planning and training. In this workshop, we will explore that myriad of techniques and exercises that will help you take that next step. Each participant will be guided through a series of proven exercises and techniques that will help promote better cross- cultural communications and more meaningful and authentic relationships based on trust, curiosity, and understanding.
Through the use of vignettes, exercises, role plays and films, we will demonstrate the art of creating dynamic, diverse and authentic workplaces where everyone feels valued, acknowledged, and understood for their differences and commonalities, histories and contributions.
