Jana Sládková is a white female immigrant from the Czech Republic. She has degrees in Economics, Linguistics and Critical Social Psychology and is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. She teaches courses on racism, immigration issues, social (in)justice, and psychology of diversity. In her research, she focuses on migration (mostly unauthorized) issues, as well as issues of diversity and inclusion in higher education.
Jana has traveled extensively and has lived on three continents. She speaks multiple languages. These experiences and skills have helped her develop intercultural sensitivity. She is passionate about social justice and is honored to learn from Mun Wah and Rainbow.
Jana is a multilingual single parent of a 9-year old son.
